My name is Kelsey, and I am a brand new staff member with Young People’s Ministries. I’ll be filling Sarah Smith’s position as the Grants and Scholarships Administrator. I am unbelievably excited to be a part of this incredible ministry, and I feel so privileged to work with such an awesome staff. It’s only my first week here, but I have already been so warmly welcomed by people all over the country. So I thought it would be appropriate if I took a moment to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about who I am.
First fun fact—my last name is Tinker. While it was not an ideal surname through those tricky middle school years, I have learned to love it. A lot of people call me Tink, and I really enjoy the nickname.
I grew up in the very small town of Trenton, GA, and then I ventured off to LaGrange College in the slightly bigger town of LaGrange, GA. I majored in Religion with a concentration in Church Leadership, and I minored in Spanish and Oikos (a sustainability minor). Through my years at LC, God provided so many fantastic opportunities for me to experience. I won’t list them all now, but just know that I am bound to bring them up in future conversations. A lot.
After college, a couple of my friends and I decided to proclaim our independence and move to the great big city of Nashville, TN. Then I quickly discovered the true meaning of the phrase, “Learning the hard way,” but fortunately, I very recently received a lesson in grace. I am so happy to have learned about this position with YPM, and I am grateful for the chance to be in ministry and serve with each of you.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!!
